School of Nursing’s Michele Kane Honored for Outstanding Leadership

(August 16, 2022) — The National League for Nursing will honor retired Navy Capt. Michele A. Kane, PhD, RN, MSN, with the 2022 Isabel Hampton Robb Award for Outstanding Leadership in Clinical Practice. Kane is the director of the School of Nursing’s bachelor of science in nursing program.

The annual NLN Awards honor individuals and organizations of stature and distinction within nursing education and the wider field of American health care. According to the NLN, the Isabel Hampton Robb Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual who inspires passion for clinical nursing, promotes evidence-based practice by building practice-education partnerships, encourages clinical expertise and inter-professional practice, challenges students to expand their clinical knowledge base in innovative ways, conducts scholarly research to assess learning outcomes that improve patient care, and fosters development of clinical reasoning in the culture of patient care.

Kane will be honored in September at the 2022 NLN Education Summit in Las Vegas.
