Online Nursing Programs
Our programs allow students to learn from wherever they are while they pursue an accredited, mission-driven nursing education that will allow them to deliver high-quality care in their communities.
About Our Distance-Based, Online Programs
Georgetown University School of Nursing has been delivering graduate nursing programs in a distance-learning environment since 2011. Our distance-based, online programs allow students to learn from wherever they are while they pursue an accredited, mission-driven nursing education that will allow them to deliver high-quality care in their communities.
Classes and coursework for Nursing@Georgetown are delivered through a platform designed with the needs of online learners in mind, backed by research in curriculum and pedagogy. The nursing curriculum is innovative and highly interactive.
However, because real-world experience is essential in developing nurses who are morally reflective health care leaders and scholars, students in the MS in Nursing, BSN to DNP, and Post-Graduate Certificate programs engage in the following hands-on learning:
- Clinical Placement: Throughout the program, students participate in extensive clinical placement experiences, working under the supervision of a designated clinical preceptor.
- Objective Clinical Intensives (OCIs): Students attend academic visits throughout the Washington, DC, Metro area, where they collaborate with peers, engage in high-fidelity simulations, and refine their clinical techniques in common procedures and exams.
