About the Program

The Master of Science Entry to Nursing Program (MS-EN) is a five-semester, on-campus, direct-entry program that prepares students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields for clinical nursing careers. This revised Master of Science Entry to Nursing Program, which opened in 2024, builds on the humanities and sciences using reflection and experiential learning. The program revision is based on nearly two decades of success with students from other careers preparing for clinical nursing in our current complex health care systems.

While at Georgetown, students learn from expert faculty and have opportunities to learn in clinical sites within the District of Columbia and the surrounding Maryland and Virginia region. Students refine their clinical skills through laboratory and high-fidelity simulation in the O’Neill Family Foundation Clinical Simulation Center. In total, students will have  800+ clinical, lab and simulation hours.

Georgetown’s nursing programs have been recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education. Students are well prepared for NCLEX-RN licensure. This 67-credit program offers additional 9 credit specialty concentrations after degree completion. We are pleased to continue to provide the successful core curriculum and student experiences of our Master of Science Entry to Nursing Program.

Student Experience

Our mission-driven program exposes students to a wide variety of health systems, where they encounter practical issues associated with health equity and the complexity of acute and chronic health care. We prepare students in all clinical areas across the lifespan and have an intentional focus on the older adult that is highlighted with scholarship opportunities available to the Fall 2024 class.
