Dr. Atabong, is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years in healthcare. Dedicated to serving minorities and underserved populations, she is a strong advocate for reducing mental health stigma. She co-owns an outpatient private practice where she is passionate about delivering cultrually responsive mental health care. Appointed by Governor Wes Moore of Maryland as Commissioner for African Affairs where she connects state government with the African diaspora communities offering recommendations on matters of economic, workforce business, health and comunity development. She also holds leadership roles in professional organizations, consults for pharmaceutical companies, and champions community mental health strategies across the globe. In 2024, she co-founded the Society of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners of Color, an organization advancing health equity and representation.
