Alrimawi Selected for ENRS Excellence in Social Justice & Health Equity Award

(February 25, 2206) — Intima Alrimawi, PhD, MSN, MPH, BSN, RN, FAAN, associate professor of nursing at Georgetown University’s Berkley School of Nursing, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Eastern Nursing Research Society Excellence in Social Justice & Health Equity Award. The award recognizes sustained contributions to advancing health equity through nursing research, education and leadership.

Alrimawi will be honored at the ENRS 38th Annual Scientific Sessions on March 27.

“I am truly grateful for this recognition,” Alrimawi said. “This recognition reflects the collective work and support of our school and the broader Georgetown community, and I am proud to represent the Berkley School of Nursing.”

The recognition highlights Alrimawi’s contributions to advancing health equity and underscores the impact of her leadership, scholarship and commitment to justice through nursing. “This is an extraordinary and well-deserved recognition of Dr. Alrimawi’s sustained leadership, scholarship, and unwavering commitment to advancing justice and equity through nursing,” said Roberta Waite, EdD, RN, PMHCNS, ANEF, FADLN, FAAN, dean of the Berkley School of Nursing. “Her work reflects the very best of our mission and brings great distinction to our School and to Georgetown. I am deeply proud of her and grateful for the impact she continues to make nationally and globally.”
