Opportunities and Resources for Displaced Federal Workers

Georgetown University School of Nursing deeply values the service and commitment of federal workers. We understand that recent changes within the federal workforce are bringing uncertainty and challenges, and we are committed to supporting you during this time. We have compiled a range of resources and opportunities designed to assist all federal workers looking for a career in nursing, including our alumni and members of the Georgetown community, as you navigate your next steps.

Pursue a Master’s Degree (10% Tuition Scholarship)

Georgetown is offering a 10% scholarship on the base tuition to current or recently separated federal civil government employees. This scholarship is applicable to federal workers and affiliates applying for the Academic Year 2026-2027, especially those looking to shift their path from federal worker to a nursing career. Application must include proof of federal civil service employment or affected status. Some restrictions may apply. Affected current students are eligible for this merit-based aid through their respective programs, following standard university procedures.

In addition, we are waiving the application fee for those applying to start a master’s degree in the 2026-2027 academic year for nearly all master’s programs at Georgetown. (All master’s degree programs in the Berkley School of Nursing are eligible for the application fee waiver.)
