Melody Wilkinson

Melody Wilkinson, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Advanced Practice Nursing. She is an experienced educator, clinician, administrator, and researcher with expertise in graduate education, solving complex leadership challenges, public health, and clinical management of infectious diseases. She served as the FNP Program Director from 2015-2020. From 2020 through 2022, she worked with the CDC Foundation as a COVID-19 Clinical Consultant, supporting West Virginia’s response to COVID-19 and an IVDU related HIV outbreak.  She holds a DNP from Duke University, MSN from Vanderbilt University and a BSN from West Virginia University. She is an AANP Fellow. She is actively involved in the National Association of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF). She maintains active clinical practice as an HIV clinician. As a translational researcher, she focuses on the health of vulnerable populations in rural areas.
