Mary Haras, PhD, MBA, APN, NP-C, CNN

Dr. Haras has been in higher education since 2007, formerly serving as a Tenured Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Haras joined Georgetown in 2017 as Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Advanced Nursing Practice in the School of Nursing & Health Studies, and transitioned to faculty in the DNP program in the re-formed School of Nursing in 2022. She is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Nephrology Nurse. Her research interests relate to curriculum development and revision in graduate nursing education, instrument development and psychometrics, geriatrics, and end-of-life issues for persons with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Haras has numerous publications related to pedagogy, and advance care planning for persons with chronic kidney disease, and serves on the Nephrology Nursing Journal Editorial Board. She presents locally, nationally, and internationally on a variety of topics. Dr. Haras is a full Professor in the School of Nursing and teaches in the DNP program.
