Lois Wessel, FNP, DNP is an associate professor at School of Nursing and the School of Medicine at Georgetown University. She practices clinically at CCI Health Services n Silver Spring, MD with a focus on immigrant and refugee health. She is bilingual (English-Spanish) and is involved with numerous community and environmental health programs including the Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment, Migrant Clinicians Network, the Environmental Health Research Institute for Nurses and the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments. She was a Duke Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Fellow and is a member of the editorial board for the Journal for Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Wessel is a recent recipient of the GU Center for Social Justice Slevin Award. She was awarded the Jesuit Network of Nursing Programs Exemplary Faculty Award in 2025. Dr. Wessel's areas of interest include community health workers, Project ECHO, environmental health, food justice, immigrant health, health equity and making the world a better place for everyone.
