Amy Culbertson is an associate professor at Georgetown University School of Nursing. Dr. Culbertson joined the School of Nursing in 2011 as an adjunct professor and became a full-time assistant professor in 2012 and an associate professor in 2023. She is currently an educator in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctorate of Nursing Practice Programs as well as serves as a Clinical Faculty Advisor for FNP students. She also has worked to develop curriculum and courses for the Core, FNP and DNP programs. Dr. Culbertson serves as a mentor in the DNP program for DNP students. In 2021, she was awarded the Outstanding FNP Faculty Award by the FNP department.
Dr. Culbertson is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner. She has over 25 years of clinical experience in family practice, internal medicine, urgent care/walk-in, and employee/occupational healthcare. Her areas of interest include primary care, psychiatric health and occupational healthcare.
She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF). Dr. Culbertson is also a member of the honor society of Sigma Theta Tau (Eta Lambda and Tau Chapters). She is a member of Georgetown University Medical Center’s Innovation and Leadership in Education (CENTILE).
