Taylor Gives Keynote at Annual Nursing Ethics Conference

(March 17, 2025) — Carol Taylor, PhD, MSN, RN, FAAN, delivered the keynote address at the annual National Nursing Ethics Conference in Los Angeles on March 13. Her talk’s title was “Vulnerability and Trust: Why Who We Are Matters.”
“Be willing to speak the truth. Speak truth to power. That can take us out of our comfort zone,
but we’ve got to do it, and it gets easier with practice,” Taylor says. “Everyday ethics is about being what is reasonable for others to expect of us. That might be as a human being, as a parent, or as a professional nurse. Our Code describes what is reasonable for the public to expect of professional nurses–and that definitely includes being trustworthy.”
