Georgetown School of Nursing Named NLN Center of Excellence
(August 20, 2024) — Georgetown University School of Nursing is one of 13 U.S. nursing education programs named as a 2024 National League for Nursing Center of Excellence™ (COE). Georgetown was singled out for its focus on “enhanced student learning and professional development.”
Describing Georgetown and the other schools as “exceptional academic institutions,” NLN Chair Patricia Sharpnack, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, said, “NLN Centers of Excellence reflect the extraordinary team and teamwork required to engage in the transformative work of nursing education—not just during one semester or even a single academic year, but in a sustained way that demands genuine dedication and authentic commitment to producing consistent programmatic excellence.”
NLN President and CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FANN said, “NLN Centers of Excellence represent the visionary leadership and environments of inclusive excellence that nurture the next generation of a strong and diverse nursing workforce to advance the health of the nation and the global community.”
The school will be recognized at the 2024 NLN Education Summit on September 20.
