Edilma Yearwood Selected Chair of AACN Diversity Position Statement Revision Committee

(April 25, 2024) — The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion department selected the School of Nursing’s Edilma L. Yearwood, PhD, PMHCNS-BC, FAAN, to serve as a chair of the AACN Diversity Position Statement Revision Committee. The AACN works to establish quality standards for nursing education and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice.

Yearwood is an active member of the AACN committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and previously served on the AACN task force to develop a toolkit for faculty and students on ‘Conducting Difficult Conversations.’

Yearwood is the Senior Advisor to the Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging & Anti-Racism in the School of Nursing.
