The Berkley School of Nursing offers degree-granting programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. Our on-campus and distance-based, online nursing programs emphasize research and scholarship and are grounded in a social justice framework. Our commitment to nursing is infused with the Jesuit values of caring for the whole person — cura personalis — and serving the common good.

Graduate programs at the Berkley School of Nursing are geared toward prospective students who have broad academic interests in an MS-Nursing degree. We offer an on-campus Entry to Nursing Program as well as several distance-based, online program options.

Doctoral Programs

The Berkley School of Nursing currently offers the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP), the Post-Bachelor’s (BSN) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), the Post-Master’s (MS) Executive Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing. Earning a doctoral degree in nursing allows advanced nursing professionals to reach the top of their field and improve health on a broader scale.

New Berkley School of Nursing Certificate Program Expands Access to Mental Health Care in Communities

To help address the nation’s escalating mental health needs, the Berkley School of Nursing has launched a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate program. The inaugural cohort of established post-master’s nurses are learning the necessary competencies to provide mental health services directly to their patients in primary and urgent care settings to fill the critical gap for care in communities.

American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Honors Carrie Bowman Dalley

The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) selects Carrie Bowman Dalley, PhD, MS, CRNA, FAANA, program director of the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program at the Berkley School of Nursing, as its Didactic Instructor of the Year.  She’ll receive the award during an AANA conference in February.

To Take the Pulse of Violent Trauma, Nurse Transfers from the Trauma Bay to the Classroom

This fall, Kenyatta Hazlewood (G’28) began her PhD in nursing to deepen her commitment to trauma prevention and intervention efforts and advance health equity through research. Her start was facilitated by the Patrick Healy Graduate Fellowship, a merit-based program that supports students who may not otherwise be able to pursue a PhD.
