School of Nursing Alumna Returns as Faculty in New Leadership Role
(July 7, 2025) — Georgetown School of Nursing alumna Evelyn Addo-Wallace (G’23), DNP, MPH, WHNP-BC, has been appointed assistant professor and assistant director for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) scholarly projects, a newly created role designed to enhance the DNP program infrastructure. Prior to July, Addo-Wallace has served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Nursing, teaching courses in the Midwifery, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and DNP programs.

Before teaching at Georgetown University, Addo-Wallace served as the director of advanced practice nursing and medical director at a large federally qualified health center in New York City, a part of Community Healthcare Network. In this capacity, she played a central role in developing a diverse and collaborative network of health care providers equipped to deliver community-based care with a strong emphasis on health equity. She also held the position of program director for New York State’s inaugural Nurse Practitioner Fellowship—a year-long training program designed to prepare newly graduated nurse practitioners for practice in underserved, community health settings. Her work in advancing quality improvement initiatives and addressing health disparities in marginalized populations has been recognized at both state and national levels.
“Dr. Addo-Wallace brings a wealth of clinical and leadership expertise, and I could not be more thrilled to have her join us in this newly created leadership role,” said Stephan Davis, DNP, MHSA, FACHE, ANEF, FAAN, associate professor and executive director for leadership, policy and DNP education. “Her leadership comes at a critical time, when we have seen tremendous growth in interest in our executive leadership and clinically focused DNP programs, and as we have reimagined the design and final deliverables for our doctoral scholarly projects.”
In this new capacity, Addo-Wallace will collaborate closely with students and faculty mentors to guide the design, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of doctoral scholarly projects. She will also lead the enhancement of the seminar courses that support the scholarly project process.

Addo-Wallace was selected to give the student address at the 2023 Tropaia Awards Ceremony.
As an alumna of the program, Addo-Wallace brings direct experience with this academic journey. Her own project was recognized as an exemplar among the 2023 cohort, and she was selected to deliver the student address at the 2023 Tropaia Awards Ceremony.
Reflecting on her new role at Georgetown, Addo-Wallace said, “It is an incredible honor and privilege to return to Georgetown School of Nursing in this new leadership role. The DNP program was instrumental in shaping my growth not only as a clinician, but as a leader and educator. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to now contribute to the same program that invested so much in my own development, and I look forward to supporting students as they transform their scholarly ideas into projects that improve care and advance our profession.”
Addo-Wallace and the primary DNP program offices will be based at 111 Massachusetts Avenue, a part of Georgetown’s Capitol Campus. The proximity to the U.S. Capitol provides an ideal setting for both didactic instruction and experiential learning, particularly given the DNP program’s emphasis on health policy and advocacy.
