Wessel Receives Slevin Award

(May 24, 2024) — Lois Wessel, DNP, FNP-BC, associate professor in the School of Nursing, received the Professor James Slevin Engaged Scholarship Award for the 2023-24 academic year. The award “recognizes a campus educator who has offered or led a community-based learning course, co-curricular pedagogical initiative, or research project that successfully integrates learning objectives with community collaboration and solidarity while promoting student engagement with social justice issues and uplifting community voices.” Wessel was nominated for her outstanding clinical and health-based work with diverse communities in the DC area and her public advocacy.
